County park gets new life as monument to service, sacrifice

The brainchild of the Gaines family and County Commissioner Stephen R. Deutsch, the new vision of the park will update the existing kayak launch and tennis courts and add additional tennis courts, pickleball courts, bocce courts, picnic pavilions, a playground, a splash pad area, pedestrian and nature trails, open fields for team play and the centerpiece, a 40-foot observation tower.
